TPD4E001: Question about VCC of TPD4E001.

Dear TI,

Below this figure is application schematics of TPD4E001 datasheet.

I have a question.

VCC port of TPD4E001 is clamp voltage for VBUS of USB device.

So, I think VCC port of TPD4E001 is not connected power like Ethernet interface(refer to below this figure)

Is that right?

Hello Inho,

You are correct. TPD4E001 is a passive ESD protection device, so it doesn't require power to operate. The Vcc pin is there to protect the power line of the interface (VBUS in the case of USB) from ESD events on it, and it also is there to lower junction capacitance.
