TUSB9261: SATA device on m.2 not detected

Hello,

we designed a board with your TUSB9261 as converter from USB2.0 to SATA on m.2 connector.

We can program the flash and we see the USB device on Windows, but we don't see the SATA disk.

We alredy corrected an error on RESET pin of the chip.

We also connected the debug lines of the chip and the chip doesn't detect any SATA device.

We are using the firmware for no POLARITY SWAP since we did not swap the TX line.

Have you any hints on that?

Hi,

I would make sure that the FW version used matches the routing on your PCB. If the polarity swap is not correct it will prevent SATA device from connecting.

We already checked the firmware. It is right since we detect the disk soldering a SATA cable directly to the bypass capacitors. Do you see any problem in our schematic? our main doubt is on the m.2 connectors.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay here. I do not see any glaring problem with the connector. However GRSTz seems to be pulled down with 0 ohm. Is GRSTZ being pulled high at any point? If not this could explain why you see not function though the device.

Yes, we knew that problem and we solved. But the chip itself works fine with an external SATA disk. The only problem could be the m.2 connector or a problem with the signal integrity at this point
