TPS25750: End product running under XID of TI USB PD Controller?

Hi team,

Can you suggest a fitting device and answer the following customer questions please?

For one (or more) future projects we want to implement USB-PD with authentication, where our Device would only play the role of Sink.

Now I have some questions about this:
- Can you recommend me a USB PD controller?
- Do I see that right, that our device will run under the XID of the TI USB PD controller?
- The controller should be able to be controlled (by a µC), or we want to send vendor defined messages and read the XID of the source.

Franz,

The TPS25750 is most likely your best option. This controller supports a SINK only role very well and does provide an MCU interface. This MCU will not support an alternate mode or VDM.

The set of MCU commands that are supported by the TPS25750 is located in the TPS25750 Host Interface Technical Reference Manual.

The Vendor and PRoduct ID is configurable in the Web GUI configuration tool and can be set to either th TI version or your own
