LVDS to RS422 translator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THVD1420, DS90LV012A, THVD1451, THVD1552

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Do we have an LVDS to RS422 translator solution?

Thanks and regards,

Art

  • Art,

I think you need to convert LVDS into TTL first, then from TTL to RS422, which need two transceivers.

  • There is no device specifically designed for this.

It would be possible to combine an LVDS receiver (e.g., DS90LV012A) with an RS-422 transmitter (e.g., THVD1420).

Alternatively, use a full-duplex RS-485 transceiver (e.g., THVD1552 or THVD1451) to receive the LVDS signal directly; the LVDS differential voltage of about 350 mV is large enough for an RS-422/485 receiver.

Other devices might be more suitable, depending on the required frequencies.
