TFP410: TFP410

Part Number: TFP410

how can i view the TXD and TXC outputs on the chip? The chip is connected to an HDMI connector which is then connected to a monitor. There is a picture on the display but when I try to view the lines all i see is a 3.3V level except on TXC- i get  0V level. I'm using a 100mhz digital scope.

  • Hi Irwin,

You need a higher bandwidth scope, as well as high-impedance probes. To look at the signals you simply need to probe the pins.

  •  I looked at eye pattern test and found out I need a scope in the Gigahertz range but thanks for responding

  • Hello again

I know I cannot see the output signals with a 100Mhz scope but I can view and verify that the input signals are correct. I found that the TFP410 encodes pixel data when the DE signal is high and the Hsync and Vsync when it is low. When I expand and sync on the DE signal and look at Hysnc I see 1 pulse while its low but no Vsync pulses during this time. There are Vsyns pulses but they occur after many DE and Hsync signals have occurred. I get my signals from an Overo Airstorm chip I think the clock is 50Mhz. I get noting on the display but black. How can I verify my inputs are correct and do you have an example of the timing requirements for the input signals signals to get a display? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Irwin,

Vsync pulses occurs once a frame, Hsync pulses occur once a line, and DE is asserted only during active data transmission. Here is an example illustration:

The timing requirements for the signals are in section 6.6 of the datasheet.
