TIC12400: Daisy chain mode

Part Number: TIC12400

Hi,

Please clarify below queries,

1. TIC12400DCPR Supports daisy chain mode? As I want to interace 4 TIC12400DCPR. But in my MCU only one SPI available.

2. Do you have any SPI timing analysis data for to know how much total time SPI transcation will take normally and by using daisy chain?

Kindly consider this as urgent and reply

Warm regards,

Monisha OM

  • Hi,

The TIC12400 outputs the Status Flags on the SO during every Read or Write SPI transaction and therefore it does not support a daisy chain configuration.  However, the SCLK, SI, and SO signals can be shared with other devices in a parallel configuration as long as separate CS signals are used for each device.

The total time a SPI transaction will take will depend on factors outside of the TIC12400 such as the MCU, propagation delays from the PCB, data rates, etc. and therefore this will need to be determined for each system.  However, the TIC12400's SPI timing requirements and specifications can be found in the Timing Requirements table in the datasheet.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
