DS90UB925Q-Q1: Can 925 - 926 pair support 1280 x 800 @ 60Hz?

Part Number: DS90UB925Q-Q1

Hi Experts,

Can 925 - 926 support below video stream?

  • LVDS 8 bit,
  • R. G. B. Strip
  • 1280 x 800 @ 60Hz
  • 16.7M colors

  • Hello Piotr,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Re: “•    LVDS 8 bit, ”

925 and 926 devices support LVCMOS inputs. But, it looks you are looking for an LVDS solution. A better fit would be DS90UB927-Q1 and DS90UB928-Q1 from our portfolio.

    Re: “•    1280 x 800 @ 60Hz”

We are not sure about your timing spec.

But, if we assume your video timing spec matches the standard video timing for 1280 x 800 display panel, then the following are applicable:

    1. Horizontal timing (line)

                Visible area = 1280, Front porch = 64, Sync pulse = 136, Back porch = 200, Whole line = 1680 pixels

    1. Vertical timing (frame)

                Visible area = 800, Front porch = 1, Sync pulse=3, Back porch=24, Whole frame = 828 lines

We can use the following equations to determine:

    1. Total pixels = Whole line x Whole frame = 1680 x 828  = 1,391,040 pixels
    2. PCLK rate = Total pixels x Refresh rate = 1,391,040 x 60  = ~83MHz

From this we can conclude that the PCLK rate is within the allowed range (5-85MHz) for DS90UB927-Q1 and DS90UB928-Q1.

Please let us know if your timing spec is different from above assumption so that the PCLK rate can be calculated correctly.

    Regards,

    Solomon
