DS90UB960-Q1: CSI-2 Output Bandwidth Different Sensors

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

Hi Team,

In the 960 datasheet, I see equation 2 for the output BW of Best-Effort Round Robin, Basic Synchronized, and Line-Interleaved CSI-2 forwarding. If I am using four cameras that a different resolutions, how should I consider this equation? Should I take an average of all four camera's Hactive and Nbits/pixl? Or should I select the largest Hactive parameter and largest Nbits/pxl from the imager options?

As an example, let's say I have the following four camera specs:

Sensor 1: Hactive = 1080, Nbits/pxl = 12

Sensor 2: Hactive = 1280, Nbits/pxl = 12

Sensor 3: Hactive = 720, Nbits/pxl = 18

Sensor 4: Hactive = 720, Nbits/pxl = 24

Thank you,

Jared

  • Hey Jared,

I will be posting a training video which talks about this depth to the FPD-Link Learning Center very soon, but it's not quite that simple as taking the average in mixed sensor aggregation. We have a calculator tool for this which can be shared under NDA so message me internally and I can share.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
