TPS65988: TPS65988

Part Number: TPS65988

Hi

I'm trying to charge S20 phone via HSM which is contains PD component TPS69588 the problem is that the charging current is 1A low ,instead of 2.5A

I set he 0x32 register 2.8A and 5V  .What do you think can cause that

Thanks

Shlomo

  • Hello,

May I know what you meant by HSM? I would suggest you to check PD trace and confirm if the phone is picking the right PDO.

    Thanks

  • Hi

My system includes PD and FLASH memory as well as MSP CONTROLER
Which connects to PD via I2C, the FLASH connects to PD via SPI
I call this whole system HSM
The system receives power from the CHARGER and supplies it to the PHONE
While removing the charger the HSM receives voltage from the PHONE
During the transition receives voltage from VCONN so that the system is fed at each stage
I have an application in PHONE that connects via USB lines to FTDI which is in HSM
The phenomenon I get and want to get support for is
As soon as I disconnect the charger then the connection between PHONE and FTDI is disconnected and this only happens for the first time after turning on the PHONE when there is a charger
    The PORT is initialized UFP
    Thanks

  • Hello,

Is the PD controller advertising 2.8A in the PD trace? If no, please check 0x32 in debug mode.

    Thanks
