Hi team,

My customer has been using DS90C385A and he is asking question about TCIT spec.

According to "Recommended Transmitter Input Characteristics", its Min TCIT is specified as 1.0ns.

[Questions]

What is reason to specify "Minimum" of TxCLK IN transition time?
Is there any concern to operate with faster TCIT than 1ns such as 800ps?

Hi Shota,

If your TCIT is faster than 1ns the device might not function as designed.

I am not sure the exact reason for the minimum spec but I suspect it could be that if your transition time is faster than 1ns it could trigger the ESD circuitry on the device.
