Hi Team,

My customer found the eye pattern was fail. But the result of TypeC cable w/ flip and w/o flip are different. I am not sure why there are 2 result on same AD/DC boost setting. Could you provide any comments? Thank you.

Hi Hardy,

Are the USB2 pins on the USB-C receptacle shorted together? In the flip condition the eye is not boosted. I would recommend using TUSB216I for the best eye diagram.

Hi Malik,

Yes, customer shorted together USB2 pin on the USB-C receptacle. Why TUSB212 in the flip condition the eye is not boosted? I also don't see TUSB216I support flip condition in the datasheet. Could you kindly talk about it more detail? Thank you.

Hi Hardy,

There is not FLIP condition for TUSB216I since both sets of USB 2 pin are shorted at the connector. WE should ensure customer is following the correct test procedure listed in the datasheet even in the FLIP condition.
