TUSB212: Should I short D2P/N to D1P/N on PCB

Part Number: TUSB212

Dear TI,

In the datasheet, it seems D2P/N should be shorted to D1P/N on PCB, could you please explain more? I am curious how the signal conditioning function can be achieved is input and output are shorted. Thank you very much.

  • Hi,

TUSB212 uses proprietary edge booster technology that allows the trace to short underneath the device to boost the signals. TUSB212 compensates for the losses to the USB 2 packet as it traverses the transmission media. TUSB212 includes options to tune the transition bits (AC Boost) and non-transition bits (DC Boost) separately.
