  • Hello Betty,

Are these two different systems or just one system with two different DES ?

Are there any other differences between the two systems? Layout, schematic, components, cable ... etc ?

Can you dump the indirect registers, from 0x00 to 0x2F ?

    - 0x1D -- normal is using the old device (940), abnormal is using the new device (940N)
    - 0x3b -- AEQ status, 0x00 is a good value, but 0x1F is a bit too high which means there may be a link issue.
    - 0x59 -- Internal use only
    - 0x6D -- The value written to the Indirect register address shown in reg 0x6C
    - 0xa0 -- This register is not used

  • Hi Hamzeh,

these are the same system, the same board and cable, no other difference.

if there have link issue, the LOCK and PASS is high, what will cause the AEQ such high?

    thank you

  • Hello Betty,

please ask them to measure the power-up sequence of the 940 as per figure 45, and provide the plots for review .

Also they may use our MAP Tool to test their link and see where the AEQ is having good values and where not.
