Dear Sirs,

My customer mentioned, it seems TI have related document about using FPGA to do camera timing sync.

Because the application will be in Robot, is it possible to add sensor synchronization technology on the time sync side,

such as Trigger input and output for GNSS, LIDAR, realsense?

Hello Peter,

are you looking for using a Sync signal sent from the DES to multiple Serializers to synchronyze the data source, such as Sensor or Lidar?

Yes!

For example, customer can use 1pps sync signal from the GNSS for FPGA reference clock and sync all sensors.

Yes, this is possible. You can send either an internally generated (in the DES) FSync signal to the SER, or you can feed this FSync signal from your Processor/FPGA to the DES GPIO and then send it to the SER GPIO.

Please refer to the DS90UB954 datasheet section "7.4.27 FrameSync Operation"

Peter,

we do not have any reference designs using FPGA.

Implementing the FSync is straight forward, just follow the discription in the datasheet!
