Hello,

Our customer uses the SN65DSI84, with 100ohm termination.

The LVDS input specefication of the receiver of the customer using is from 100mV to 300mV.

The LVDS output of the SN65DSI84 is over 300mV with 100ohm termination (max spec).

The customer wants to reduce the LVDS output level.

Is there any way to reduce the LVDS output level, except for adjust termination resistor?

Hello Naoki,

There are LVDS VOD swing and VCOM parameter configuration savailable in the register 0x19. The diff termination can also be adjusted via register setting. Refer to the Electrical Characteristics table for each setting in |VOD|.

Hello Joel,

Thank you for your reply.
I checked the datasheet and understood the 100ohm, 200ohm is near end termination.
If the customer adjust the diff termination to 200ohm, is it possible to use 100ohm line impedance?
Does it need impedance matching to 200ohm?

Hello Naoki,
They need to match the near end differential termination configured in the CHA_LVDS_TERM field, then they will have to consider only the LVDS voltages with the same test conditions that are shown in the 6.5 Electrical Characteristics section.
