Hi,

I can access to deserializer register through I2C from my application processor. I would like to access to registers of serializer and slave device attached to serializer from the same application processor. I read from ducumentation that it is possible to access to remote I2c devices. From register 0x7 of deserializer I can read the i2c address of the serializer but I don’t know how to access to it, please help.

Hi, you can refer to i2c communication over FPD-Link (www.ti.com/.../getliterature.tsp. Basically, you need:
1. set the pass-through in the reg.
2. set the slave and remote slave ID's alias in the reg.
3. you can use the alias to assess the salve I2C through the local I2C master.

I think I understood the mechanism, I have just one more doubt before marking the answer as "This resolved my issue": I have a deserializer, I read reg 0x7 to get serializer address, I enable pass-through and I access serializer registers, and this is great; but what if I already have a device with that address on my i2c bus? I suppose I could have a conflict.
In other words, is there an alias for REMOTE ID as there are for SLAVE ID?

Yes, you are right. in the I2C bus, you should have respective I2C addr. for read/write. for FPD-Link, both slave (either ser or de-ser) and remote slave I2C have alias.

Please, just point me to the Remote alias register. I only find 0x07 REMOTE ID.
