DP83822I: How to Bootstrap LED_0 to default when LED is connected ?

Part Number: DP83822I

Hi we designed our board with dp83822 and connected to Pin LED_0 the Link Led of our Ethernet Connector.

Now we faced the problem that bootstrap configuration is wrong. We need AN_0 to be 1 for our configuartion the datasheet says LED_0 has to be strapped to Default which means OPEN OPEN in Table 9.

But how can we configure this as OPEN when actually an LED is connected to this pin. (We use negative Logic Here). Can you tell us how this should be done with an example ?

Thx in Advance

  • Hi Haxor,

The datasheet has example of LED connections on figure 31. For AN_0 to be 1, LED_0 should be strapped to mode 4. LED_0 pin has internal pull up resistor which will make the LED pin active LOW. LED pin should be connected between VDDIO and LED_0 pin and you will need to add a pull up resistor in parallel with the LED as shown in Figure 31 of the datasheet.
