Hello,

I met following issue, when TPS65982 is in DP Alt Mode as DP Sink, content of DP Configure Message is always zero. DP_Configure message is captured by USB PD Analyzer, but is not written in the the register.

When TPS65982 is DP Source, DP Configure Message contains valid data.

Is this a bug? Are there any other way to retrieve current DP Alt Mode configuration?

Hi Eric,

Nice document, on the "Figure 16. DisplayPort Status Register Read from TPS65982 Acting as UFP_D" are shown exactly my case :) :

- Bits DP SID Active and DP Mode Active, so device is in DP Alt Mode;
- DP Status RX, DFP/_D/UFP_D shows that DPF_D is connectd

but all DP Configure bits as cleared.

Register spec says, that the DPConfigure field is the "Contents of DP Configure message when sent (DFP_U) or received (UFP_U)."

So, I expect that at least on bit should be set (probably - bit D if configuration match to the Figure 17).

You need to configure those pins in your configuration file using the Application Customization Tool.

Hi Alexander,

On DFPD Receptacle or UFPD Plug Pin Assignment, please only enable C, D, and E. Also, please enable the Multifunction Preferred bit. This should resolve the issue.

Hi Eric,

I have tried. Issue partially resolved: configuration received, but C pin allocation is always set. Attached pictures show the case when D pin allocation requested by DP Configure message, but C is shown.
