ISO7762DWEVM: Mounting

Part Number: ISO7762DWEVM

Tool/software:

Hello,

I need to attach the ISO7762DWEVM board to a mount. I'm looking into adding through holes for fasteners. Are the three circular fiducial markers viable locations to machine through holes? Do you have any other location suggestions or keep out zones to keep in mind?

  • Also what adhesive is used to attach the hemisphere feet on the back of the ISO7762DWEVM?

  • Hi Alexander,

This is a very interesting request (I don't think I have gotten that questions before).

The main consideration here would the ground planes on the PCB. side 1 have the GND1 ground plane while side 2 has the GND2 ground plane (see EVM user guide for schematic). The size of hole, fastener material, and what you are fastening to would also be a consideration for this as well.

If you plan on fastening the EVM to an enclosure or metal plate of sort, drilling the fiducial marks and exposing ground planes can potentially short both grounds (GND1 and GND2) together, effectively bypassing the isolation barrier. Can you please confirm the size of hole, fastener material, and what you are fastening to?

  • Hey Aaditya, thank you. We decided to try a different mounting solution. What adhesive is used to attach the hemisphere feet on the back of the ISO7762DWEVM?

  • Hi Alexander,

Thank you for confirming that you have decided to use a different mounting solution.
Regarding your question on adhesive used to attach the bumpons, the bumpons come with adhesive. The paper, holding it, is peeled off to expose the adhesive and then attached to the PCB. The part number of bumpon is SJ-5303 (CLEAR). I am attaching below an image for your reference. Thanks.
