ISOW1412: ISOW1412 as a half duplex

Part Number: ISOW1412

Tool/software:

Hi,

I want to use ISOW1412 isolated RS485 driver, but it is full duplex. (A&B lines for input, Y&Z lines for output)

now, my remote device to which i want to communicate support half duplex mode.

So, Can I use ISOW1412 as a half duplex?

In datasheet, page no. 30 , it is noted that

" Though the device family is full-duplex, it can also be used for half-duplex applications by connecting driver output (Y , Z) to receiver input (A , B) on PCB-this helps to reduce cabling costs."

Is it mean that should i short (Y&A) and (Z&B) lines?,

I haven't used this IC before. So, I am asking this for confirmation.

currently I am going to short (Y&A with 0 ohm resistor) and (Z&B with 0 ohm resistor). (not directly , just for security purpose, but, is 0 ohm is required?)

I have shorted DE/RE line s & given it to GPIO of MCU. Is there any other things that should I keep in mind for using this IC as half duplex?

Regards,
