ISO7842: what's the maximum creepage distance of iso7842 DWW package?

Part Number: ISO7842

Hi

in customer's application, bus voltage is 1500V, so customer want to choose the creepage distance 15mm.

to iso7842 DWW package, the datasheet shows that the creepage is >14.5mm, so can iso7842 DWW package meet 15mm requirement?

thanks.

  • Hi

customer want to know the A and B distance in iso7842 DWW package ?

  • Hi Max,

Like it is mentioned in the datasheet, ISO7842DWW supports a minimum creepage of 14.5mm. There would be some device to device variation in creepage but the guaranteed minimum creepage is 14.5mm. I understand customer requirement is 15mm of creepage, I do not think ISO7842DWW will be able to support 15mm of clearance. Please do share why customer requires 15mm of creepage over email so that I can see how we can help customer meet their requirements.

Regarding A and B dimensions, please allow me to check with the packaging team to see if I will be able to find that information. Since most people are on vacation now, I might only be able to come back once the relevant people are back from vacation. Thanks.

  • Hi Rao,

could you check the A and B dimensions this week?

    thanks.

  • Hi Rao,
I submit this question to Max. My request is 10.4mm Clearance and 15mm Creepage distance. So I need you to confirm whether ISO7842DWW can meet 15mm creepage.
  • Hi Max, User1359771,

Apologies for the delay on this. Unfortunately, most people were on vacation and many of them should be back today. Hence allow me couple more days to come back to you on this request.

Clearance and creepage for ISO7842DWW that we guarantee is 14.5mm, I don't think the device will be able to support 15mm creepage. I will anyway come back on your question of A & B dimension. Thanks.

  • Hi Max, User1359771,

I have found the dimension data that you had requested for. Please find below the typical value of A & B. Thanks.

    A = B = 1.016mm
