ADS1282-SP: default mode: continuous or non-continuous?

hi, I have some confusion about the default mode of the device.  Section 8.5.1.5 of the datasheet indicates that the device is in read data continuous mode by default.  but figure 63 indicates that the default sync mode is pulse sync, not continuous.  is that a contradiction, or are those two things not related?

    Hi,

    These two sections are independent of one another. One refers to modes of reading conversion data while the other refers to modes of synchronizing multiple ADCs. Section 8.3.16 and 8.3.17 explain in greater detail the synchronization modes supported by the device: either pulse-sync mode (default) or continuous-sync mode.
