SN74AVCH2T45: SN74AVCH2T45DCUR Crash and memory issue

Part Number: SN74AVCH2T45
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AXC2T45

Hi,

When i connected refrence clock from ethernet PHY(AR8031) - 2.5V to i.MX 8 SoC - 3.3V my baord is getting crash and memory issue is coming.

If i connected refrence clock directly through OE from ethernet PHY(AR8031) to i.MX 8 SoC there is no issues.

Clock speed 25MHz. what is the issue with this translator ?

  • 25 MHz should work.

Can you show oscilloscope traces of the input and output signals?

I have not been able to find the CLK_25M pin's drive strength in the AR8031 datasheet. In theory, 200 µA should be no problem for any digital output, but you might try a translator without bus hold (SN74AXC2T45). Why did you choose one with bus hold?

  • Thanks for the reply.

I have attached oscilloscope traces of the input and output signals and we will also try a translator without bus hold (SN74AXC2T45).

  • Hey Manu,

Is it possible to have them in the same scope shot? I don't see much issue here with the waveform, are you able to highlight where the issue happens?

  • Hi Dyan Hubbard,

I am not able to find, since it continues clock from ethernet PHY to SoC.

  • In this attached video i observed that translator output clock is varying continuedly, even input clock is running stable.
