SN74HCS08: Overlap of switching threshold

Hi Expert,

We are proposing the SN74HCS08DR to replace the SN74HC08DR.

Pls confirm whether is true of Overlap of switching threshold of datasheet.

Examples for 4.5Vcc :

Positive switching threshold is 1.7V ~3.15V

Negative switching threshold is 0.9V~2.2V

The information from applicant report (SCEA046),there is no Overlap of switching threshold.

Pls advice.

    Hi Eric,

    VT+ will always be larger than VT-.

    Please note that there is a third specification in regards to the input threshold:

    For example, at 4.5V operation, the difference between VT+ and VT- will be at least 0.4V, and at most 1.4V.
