SN74HC08: SN74HC08DE4 VS SN74HCO08DR ?

Part Number: SN74HC08

Customer has a request about SN74HC08DE4 VS SN74HCO08DR.

I explained as follows.

'G4 & E4 (LeadFrame Finish – NiPdAu) is not guaranteed due to BOM change previously communicated in PCN 20200629000.1.
Recommended replacement devices are pb-free and green.'

But they want a more detailed explanation.

1. Is there a difference in electrical characteristics?

2.Is the existing E4 and G4 integrated into DR? If so, what's the reason?

3. Please give me a more detailed explanation.

There is no difference; see [FAQ] Why does a logic device's part number have an E4/G4 suffix?

"D" indicates the SOIC package.

"R" indicates a large reel; "T", a small reel; no letter, a tube.

In other words, was SN74HC08DE4 discontinued and changed to SN74HCO08DR.
The customer asked if there was any difference before using the changed SN74HCO08DR .

The PDN does not mention the SN74HC08DE4. It mentions only the SN74HC08DRE4 (with "R").

There is no device named "SN74HCO08DR". The "O" does not belong there.

The SN74HC08D is identical with the SN74HC08DE4.
The SN74HC08DR is identical with the SN74HC08DRE4.
(The SN74HC08DR is manufactured at multiple sites, some of which use Sn lead frames, and some of which use NiPdAu lead frames. The electrical characteristics are the same.)
