TXS0102: Multiple slave devices

Hi,

I am using TXS0102DCTT in my design. I will be connecting 17 slave devices on this bus. 16 devices will be same IC(SDI driver) and 1 device will be a clock synthesizer. I would like to know is it a good and safe idea to use TXS0102DCTT or can anyone suggest me a different part.

Hey Shifali,

This device is more suited for point to point connections to minimize the capacitive loading. With 17 devices on the bus, I expect the combined capacitance to be too large for this device. I believe our Interface team will have a better suited I2C translator for this application. I will move your post into their forum.

May I know what is the maximum bus capacitance the IC TXS0102 can support.

The TXS supports its maximum data rate only with less than 70 pF.

Anyway, consider an I²C buffer like the TCA9803.

Hi,

Can you suggest any alternate part for TXS0102DCTT which can support higher bus capacitance and is footprint compatible with TXS0102DCTT.

As far as I can see, there is none.

You can use the TXS, but you should check with an oscilloscope how fast you can go.
