SN74HCS32: Maximum Load Capacitance

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering sN74HCS32 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

According to the datasheet P.10 load capacitance is able to drive until 70pF.

Could we understand this description for driving the capacitance directly?

＜datasheet P.10 description＞
The SN74HCS32 can drive a load with a total capacitance less than or equal to 50pF
connected to a highimpedance CMOS input while still meeting all of the datasheet specifications.
Larger capacitive loads can be applied, however it is not recommended to exceed 70pF.

We are considering to connect 1000pF to the output via 2.2kohm in series.
In this case, is there any problem if the output current rating is satisfied.

    The important part in that sentence is "while still meeting all of the datasheet specifications". With larger loads, some electrical or switching characteristics might be exceeded.

    With the current-limiting resistor, there is no problem.

    The data sheet says, it may exceed some of the electrical or switching characteristics under the heavy load.
