TXS0102: Can I use this Level Shifter in CANbus? Does it work properly in CANbus speed?

Hello,

I want to use TXS0102 for level shifting from 1.8V (my CAN controller works at 1.8V) to 3.3V (TI ISO1050 CAN transceiver accepts at 3.3V) .

Can TXS0102 work at the CANbus speed properly? I saw some demo boards which use TXS0104E level shifter for this translation in CANbus.

Which level shifter ( TXS0102 or TXS0104E) should I use for CANbus?

You can use the TXS0102 for this. You would need the TXS0104E only if you had more than two signals.

The TXS is optimized for open-drain signals. A better choice would be the SN74AXC2T245.

Other transceivers like ISO1042 or ISO1044 would work directly with 1.8 V.

If my CAN controller had run at 3.3V, then could I use directly ISO1050 transceiver without using any Level Shifter?

Yes, the ISO1050 works with a 3.3 V controller.
