SN74LVC245A: Is there an octal or hex buffer with non-inverting output enable input?

Part Number: SN74LVC245A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G04, SN74LVC126A, SN74LVC541A

Hello,

I need a basic 6 or 8 bit buffer, but with non-inverting output enable. Something like the SN74LVC245A, but that one has inverted OE. What part do you recommend? I don't need individual OE inputs; one OE for all 6 or 8 bits is preferred.

  • Hey Derek,

I'm not familiar with a function like this. I think the best way to get this functionality would be to add a single channel inverter (like the SN74LVC1G04) preceding the OE input.

  • Hi Derek,

There may not be a pin to pin replacement for what you need. Your best solution may be to use an inverter to invert the OE inputs. I will get back to you tomorrow with more information, as I have just started on the team recently and will ask for some more input.

    Best,

    Albert Xu

  • Hello, it doesn't need to be a pin to pin replacement, since this is a brand new design. Do you have any tri-state buffers with active high output enable?

  • The only buffers with active-high OE are the four-channel 74xxx126, with inidividual OEs.

Compared to 2× SN74LVC126A, using SN74LVC541A+SN74LVC1G04 allows easier routing.
