SN74LVC1G32: Difference of NiPdAu and NiPdAuAg

Part Number: SN74LVC1G32

Hi Expert,

My customer would like to replace SN74LVC1G32DSFR with SN74LVC1G32DSF2.

1. Does it have any concern if directly change?

2. I checked datasheet and found that they use differential lead finish. What is the advantage and disadvantage when we use NiPdAu and NiPdAuAg part?

3. Why we have these 2 differential PN? Because SN74LVC1G32DSFR already include NiPdAu and NiPdAuAg lead finish.

4. How can we choose NiPdAu or NiPdAuAg when we order SN74LVC1G32DSFR?

Best regards,

Hardy

  • Hi Hardy,

DSF2 is just another orientation of the DSF package in the tape and reel:

    1. Does it have any concern if directly change?

    No.

    2. I checked datasheet and found that they use differential lead finish. What is the advantage and disadvantage when we use NiPdAu and NiPdAuAg part?

These two are mostly equivalent - most customers will not see any difference. The NiPdAu-Ag leadframe is a "roughened" leadframe, which means that the surface area is increased which increases surface area and can improve adhesion.

    3. Why we have these 2 differential PN? Because SN74LVC1G32DSFR already include NiPdAu and NiPdAuAg lead finish.

The part numbers are for customers to order the different orientations of the device.

    4. How can we choose NiPdAu or NiPdAuAg when we order SN74LVC1G32DSFR?

You cannot. When ordering a device using a part number associated with multiple leadframes, any of those leadframes can be received. It will depend on what is available at the time of order.
