SN74AUP1G74: p2p replace 74AUP1G74

Part Number: SN74LVC1G74
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP1G74

Hi team,

We are promoting SN74AUP1G74 replace 74AUP1G74 from Nexperia. I think that the logic part would be directly replace with same function, however, by checking the true table, it shows that when CLR/RD is low, that will be difference between those two part, could you help check why there is such difference? And if this could be direct replace? thanks.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Will

  • Hi Will,

In older flip-flop designs, activating CLEAR and PRESET at the same time would cause the outputs to both go HIGH, however more modern designs don't have to use this functionality. The TI SN74AUP1G74 is designed to keep the output in the LOW state (with Q\ in the HIGH state) in the case that both pins are held low.

Is your customer planning to drive both PRE and CLR low at the same time?  I have never seen a design that does this intentionally and I would be interested to see if you have one.
