Hi Team, we confirm pullups or pull down resistors are needed at the direction terminals DIR1 & DIR2 and the chip enable /OE.

    You can connect these pins directly to VCC or GND.

    You need a pull-up/-down only if you want a certain state during power-up and need to override this from the microcontroller later.
