SN74LVC1G04: what does exactly "3" suffix mean?

Part Number: SN74LVC1G04

Hello TI experts,

My customer considers to change SN74LVC1G04DCKR to SN74LVC1G04DCK3 because of delivery issue.

the difference which I can found on the datasheet is "Green", "Non-Green" and lead finish/ball material.

1. Could you confirm that there are no difference except these 2?

2. What does "Green" exactly mean?

3. does it affect to customer's application if we use both part number?

Please check these issues. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • 1. The datasheet should mention all the differences. The DCK3 is not listed in the tape and reel information, so it's possible that it has a different reel, or a different pin 1 quadrant (but these would be unlikely).

    2. "Green" means that the Chlorine, Bromine, or Antimony trioxide flame retardant content is below 1000 ppm. As shown in the material content statement, the DCK3's mold compound contains 2 % each of Antimony trioxide and brominated epoxy.

    3. The electrical characteristics do not change. The bismuth in the lead finish is intended to prevent tin whiskers and should not affect solderability; if in doubt, ask your board manufacturer.

  • Dear Clemens,

Thank you for your support. I will discuss it with my customer what you mentioned.

    Best regards,
