SN74LVC4245A: Connection of DIR and OE pin

Part Number: SN74LVC4245A

Hello,

The SN74LVC4245A datasheet says the control circuit for DIR and OE is powered by VCCA (5V). The Vih-min of DIR and OE is 2V. In theory this could be driven from a device powered by 3.3V. In our application the DIR is to be controlled by a 3.3V logic device. Since 3.3V is sufficiently greater than 2V it should be fine, please confirm.

Thanks, Infant Jesuraj

  • Hello Infant,

Thanks for reaching out about your question regarding LVC4245A. You are correct that the Vih_min is 2V. This means that the minimum voltage required on the input to be realized as a high input is 2V. As for the input voltage, the LVC4245A will be able to tolerate the 3.3V by the logic device.

    Regards,

    Jack
