SN74LVC1G17DCKR

Parts:SN74LVC1G17DCKR
Is it possible to give an opinion on the allowable value (actual value) of overshoot and undershoot?

2 pins of SN74LVC1G17DCKR
Tolerance as a transient value for overshoot and undershoot.
The period over 6.5V is less than 1.6ns. (Max.6.62V)
The period over -0.50V is less than 3.5ns. (Min.-0.69V)

Is there a permissible value as below?
Overshoot: Transient value over 6.5V is Max 7.0V 10ns or less
Undershoot: Transient value over -0.5V is Min -1.0V 10ns or less

  • Hello Kishimoto-san,

No, TI can only guarantee operation within the datasheet specifications and there is no transient overshoot or undershoot specification. The absolute maximum ratings table indicates that the input voltage must be less than 6.5V - exceeding this value for any time can result in damage.

For the input going below -0.5V, this will activate the negative clamp diode and will not cause damage so long as the current is limited to 50mA through the diode as described in the absolute maximum ratings table:

Similarly, the output has a negative clamp diode and will handle negative transients in a similar fashion.
