SN74LS32: Wave Soldering conditions

Part Number: SN74LS32

Hi,

I would like to check our Wave Soldering conditions meet to snoa292 document (Recommended Soldering Profiles) or not.

Our Wave Soldering conditions are below.
Preheat temperature : 120 to 140 degrees C
Preheating time : 60 to 90s
Peak Soldering Temperature : 250 degrees C
Peak Soldering Time : 6s

I checked snoa292 document (Recommended Soldering Profiles).
This document has "Ramp Up °C/sec" and "ΔT".
I think these conditions are preheating.

Regarding preheating, I couldn't judge that our conditions meet to snoa292.
If there are temperature and time for preheat, could you share them?

Thank you,

Takahashi

  • Hello Takahashi-san,

Are you having some issue with devices not soldering properly in your wave process specifically with the SN74LS32? I expect that this is a very mature process and it has been working normally for years, so it is very odd to get this kind of question suddenly without any reported issue.

This document provides some additional details for wave soldering, including recommended preheat time: https://www.ti.com/lit/scea041
