LSF0108: Is it OK to combine 2 or 3 channesl to increase drive current?

Thanks for your response. So let's forget about LSF0108. As for the I2C buffer, it takes care of the bidirection fine but I need about 64mA drive to the outside world, what suggestion would you have for me a this point. Thanks in advance. 

Please describe your application. What is the actual problem you're trying to solve?

We need a level shifting transciver between the FPGA and the outside world, and it should be able to drive 100 ft cable.  3.3V level on side A (FPGA side) , 5V on side B (long cable side).   Since the LSF devices will not work, I'm looking at SN74ALVC164245 and combining 2 channels to increase current drive and to protect the FPGA, series current limiting resistors are to be fitted on the FPGA side. Please let me know if this would work and if you have solutions, please let me know as well.

The SN74ALVC164245 has a total current limit of 100 mA, so you will not be able to handle even two 64 mA channels.

100 ft is far beyond what you can achieve with singled-ended signals. You need differential signals, i.e., RS-422/485 or CAN.

How many channels, at what speed?

I could be wrong on the 100ft (that's what they told me, never seen the actual interconnection myself), could be shorter but we can't change the interface to RS482/RS485 because the cable is connecting to the other box.  We are to modernize the existing box, it uses this chip 74FCT164245T Datasheet (renesas.com) for the interface.  So if you could help me to find the equivalence but with small footprint, then that will do.  We don't really need all the 16 bits together, 2 bit parts, 4 bits parts etc... are OK as long as they are tiny, with footprint like DSBGA(9).

To save space on the board, we'd use this SN74LXC8T245RJW, but it does not seem  that it's available for purchasing.

   We'll use the next available smaller size available, SN74LXC8T245RHLR. 

   By they way, you have a spice model so that I can do some simulation to see how far along the cable that it can drive.  Customer was saying the cable length is 300ft and it's working for them with  74FCT164245T Datasheet (renesas.com)  which is equivalent to the part you suggested.
