SN74LVC8T245: vs SN74LXC8T245 migration: difference in how inputs behaves?

Part Number: SN74LVC8T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LXC8T245

Team,

Customer tries to migrate to SN74LXC8T245 (TI.COM suggest "Drop-in replacement with upgraded functionality to the compared device") but is facing issues.
I will provide the schematics offline.

Here is the question/issue:

The level shifters are connected to an MCU:

OE and DIR are statically wired and are not changed.
VCCA is 3.3V and VCCB is 5V.
The microcontroller is connected on the 3.3V side. When MCU is reset, its outputs go high for a short time.
-With the SN74LVC8T245RHLR, the signals are forwarded to the outputs accordingly.
-With the SN74LXC8T245RHLR, the outputs remain low.

When the inputs of the SN74LXC8T245RHLR are actively driven, they function as desired.

-Do you have any idea which of the SN74LXC8T245RHLR's additional features could explain this behaviour?
I would have ruled out the additional pull downs as OE is fixed at 5V and DIR is fixed at 3.3V.

Thanks in advance,

A.
