SN74LV4T125: Max output current for SN74LV4T125 and SN74LXC8T245

Part Number: SN74LV4T125

Dear Technical Support Team,

①Is the output current rating(Max) below due to the heat problem or the output voltage(VOH/VOL) cannot be maintained ?

② Are these specs for total channel output current or per channel?

■SN74LV4T125

VOL/VOH: ±16mA(VCC=4.5V  VOH/VOL(MAX))

IO Continuous output current : ±35mA(Absolute Max)

Continuous current through VCC or GND:±70mA(Absolute Max)

■SN74LV4T125

VOL/VOH: ±32mA(VCC=4.5V  VOH/VOL(MAX))

IO Continuous output current: ±50mA(Absolute Max)

Continuous current through VCC or GND:±200mA(Absolute Max)

Best Regards,

ttd

  • When you exceed the absolute maximum rating, the device might get damaged.
When you exceed the recommended operation condition, the device might no longer meet the electrical characteristics (like VOH/VOL), or even not work at all.

All ratings are per pin. But the VCC/GND ratings put a limit on the total current that is sourced or sunk by all I/O pins.

  • Hi ,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that I need to use the recommended operation condition within the electrical characteristics (like IOH/IOL for VOH/VOL).

    Best Regards,
