Hello,

We found different lead frames and bond wires in parts purchased from different assembly sites.
Can you please let us know if this will affect the form fit or function of the parts?
Parts were purchased from TI direct.
Please let me know if you need additional information.

Hello,

Is it normal for leadframes to be this different between these assembly sites?

I assume that since Thailand pre plates their leadframes with silver that is the reason they have no ball bonds on the lead frame?

It is normal that leadframe design will be different between different assembly sites. Leadframe is considered proprietary information/ design owned by each factory.

No, it is not the reason. Pre Plated leadframe (PPF) can be having either ball bond or leadframe or not having Ball bond on leadframe. And also PPF is Nickel, Palladium, and Gold- not silver. When you observed ball bond on lead frame, it is consider reverse bonding which is one of wire bond technique. Different site can use different bonding technique as long as follow the right layout of MB diagram of that device.
