SN74AUP1G32: Output(Y) Pull Down resistor Range

Part Number: SN74AUP1G32
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61178

Dear Sirts:

Regarding the SN74AUP1G32 (Low-Power Single 2-Input Positive-OR Gate) Output(Y) Pull Down resistor Range.

1. Whether the output (Y) of SN74AUP1G32 recommends to add the Pull Down resistor for avoiding floating?

2.  Add Pull Down resistor  on the output (Y) of SN74AUP1G32. Please provide us with the recommend Pull Down resistor value range.

 [ Range: Pull- Down resistor (min) ~ [ Pull- Down resistor(max) ]

Please check to reply us asap.

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,

Vincent

  • 1. The output of this device is always active when the device is powered. You need a pull-down resistor only if you need to have a defined voltage when the device is powered down.

    2. This depends on the other devices; see Choosing an Appropriate Pull-up/Pull-down Resistor. In practice, a rule of thumb is 10 kΩ.

  • Dear Sir:

The output(Y) of SN74AUP1G32 connect to TPS61178( Boost converter) EN pin with internal Pull-Down resistor 800kohm( typ.)

    1. Whethet it can use the TPS61178( Boost converter) EN pin's internal Pull-Down resistor (800Kohm-typ.) instead of external Pull -Down Resistor?

    2. If still need to add external Pull down Resistor for the output(Y) of SN74AUP1G32.

Current use the external Pull down Resistor value is 100kohm.

       Is it OK?

     [ VCC = 3V, IOH(Max) = -4mA , External Pull Down Resistor ( min ) = 3V / 4mA =  0.75Kohm. ]

Please check to reply us asap.

    Thanks a lot.

  • The TPS61178's EN pin's pull-down resistor is designed to work correctly. So you do not need to add another one.
