The absolute maximum rating is 25 mA, so the device might get damaged.
And even exceeding the recommended operating condition (of 8 mA in this case) would probably not leave enough voltage for the load. Please note that the supply voltage affects the drive strength.
Use a logic family with stronger output drivers, and use multiple outputs in parallel, if needed. You probably want the SN74LVC2G34. (If the input signal has a lower voltage, put a level shifter like the SN74LV1T34 in front.)

Even a single LVC output (e.g., SN74LVC1G34) is rated for 32 mA, but the VOL of 0.55 V leaves only 3.95 V for the load. You have to determine if that is enough for your application. (With two outputs, VOL is halved.)

Does the translator need to be single supply only? Otherwise the LVC/LXC family devices can provide 32mA of drive strength in regards to your application as well.
