LSF0204: Level translator

Part Number: LSF0204
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0104, TXB0106, TXB0304

Hi Team,

Can you help with the inquiry below?

1.Can LSF0204 be adopted for level conversion from 1.8V QSPI to 3.3V QSPI? I saw the application implementation in the datasheet and it seems doable. can you confirm?

2.The QSPI of CPU is 1.8V, while the QSPI of FLASH is 3.3V. What level conversion chip should be used? CPU QSPI is 66 MHZ? will the LSF0204 works or can I use TXB0104 or TXB0106?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hey Marvin,

The LSF0204 will work but it requires additional biasing requirements compared to other level shifters. To support the 66MHz operation, you would also need to place the physical device as close to the high voltage device as possible to reduce any parasitic capacitances. Furthermore, you would need pretty strong pull up resistors to keep the RC constant small, but note that this current will sink into your driver (input side).

I would suggest taking a look at the TXB0304 as well; it supports 1.8V to 3.3V level shifting in 66MHz operations. Keep the external loading conditions to a minimum such as PCB trace lengths and other parasitic capacitances to help meet the requirement in the datasheet:

    Thanks,
    Jack
