PLC signal at 12V to 5V TTL

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD4504B, CD40109B, CD4010B

Hi Team,

Need to convert a PLC signal at 12V to 5V TTL for measurement with a DAQ system. Can you help me determine if there is a component for this application?

Thank you.

-Mark

  • The only logic family that can handle voltages above 5 V is CD4000. Use the CD40109B, CD4010B, or CD4504B.

  • Hi Mark,

In addition to Clemens' feedback; we are also currently working on more devices that can support similar 12V to 5V applications. To help properly support your needs, could you help further clarify the below? Thanks.

    • Block diagram to help further understand the customer application.
    • Are there any existing solutions? Would the CD4000 devices meet your requirements?
    • What is the needed timeline for the project, as well as the opportunity size?
    • Are there any load requirements as well as the max needed drive strength (mA)?
    • Is the application push pull or open drain?
    • What is the data rate?
    • Does it matter if the signals are inverted or not?
    • Are there any transient voltage tolerance for surge?
    • How many channels or bits are preferred?

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
