Hi,
We are looking for an DAC with 8 channel output.
Minimum sampling rate 4MSPS and min resolution is 12 bit.
Remaining parameter is not a major concern as of now.
Please suggest if TI have such parts.
Best Regards,
Shafeeq

Hi Leonard,
Sorry for the confusion.
We are looking for DAC.

Hi Shafeeq,
The interface type will be an important parameter in order to achieve the sampling rate. Clemens suggested a parallel interface DAC which have a faster update rate but they require one GPIO control per data bit and possibly more for any configuration settings.
Do all 8 channels need to be updated within 4MSPS, or is it 4MSPS per channel? We only support SPI, I2C, or parallel interfaces (edit: in the precision DAC group). Most of our DACs in the precision DAC group have a maximum SPI clock speed of 50MHz and the typical DAC takes 16-24 clocks to update the output. This would be ~2MSPS per channel. I2C has a lower max speed. We do have faster DACs in the high speed group that can achieve faster speeds. I can move this thread to that forum if you are interested.
Here is the ti.com overview page: https://www.ti.com/data-converters/dac-circuit/high-speed/overview.html

Hi Katlynne,
Thanks for the reply.
We need 4 MSPS per channel.
Please suggest if you have any parts in high-speed DACs.
I would like to have maximum channels per part, because we need a total of 96 channel in our board. So it will be difficult to use single channel or dual channel DACs.
Interface can be parallel or lvds or any
Please suggest

In the precision DACs group, the DAC7822 is the 4 MSPS device with the highest channel count.
In the high-speed DACs group, there are four-channel devices, but they begin with the DAC3484 that can do 1250 MSPS and eats 1.2 W.
Is there any other parts with 10 bit and 2 MSPS.
We need a total 96 channels in our board. So with both suggested parts the I/O count for 96 channels is very huge.
Please suggest if any better option is there.

Shafeeq
Even when relaxing these parameters, I end up at the DAC7822.
There are no parallel-input DACs with many channels, because that would require too many pins. And the serial-input DACs do not allow an update rate high enough for many channels.
Hi Shafeeq,
I assume Clemens means the DAC8722 here. But I agree with his assessment.
We do have a device called the DAC81416 which is a 16-channel DAC that supports a toggle mode. This would allow you to quickly switch between two predefined DAC values. That's the only alternative I can think of.

Hi Clemens and Katlynne,
Thanks for the reply.
Is there any 2 channel devices ?
We prefer classic or dual or quad spi for 2 channel as parallel or lvds will result in adding more I/Os for our total 96 channels in our board.
Note:We can't use predefined waveforms.
Please suggest if you have any parts.
Best regards
Shafeeq
Hi Shafeeq,
Unfortunately, my original statement still stands. With a 50MHz SPI clock and a 24-bit update sequence you would be limited to ~2MSPS per channel. So, ~1MSPS for a two channel device.
