Hi Team,
For one of the redesign project, we wish to use the level translator (TXB0104) to convert 5V logic to 3.3V logic.
Many of the chips in the existing design is 5V tolerant. As part of design I have checked the compatibility of introducing the level translator between 5V and 3.3 V logic levels and leads to some doubts on it.
The VOH min of the existing chip(U1) is 2.4V and VIH min of level translator (U3) is 3V (VCCI*0.6). Is this produce a circuit incompatibility issue?
I am attaching the block diagrams of circuit level scenarios for your reference.
You could run both sides of the TXB with 3.3 V. But the TXB requires a drive strength of at least 2 mA, while the IOH of LS devices is only 0.4 mA.
Use the TXU0104/TXU0204/TXU0304.
