SN74ALVTH16374: Data sheet mistake?

Part Number: SN74ALVTH16374
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AVC16374

Hello

I think I may have found a mistake in your data sheet, in one of the waveforms, and just need to verify that indeed it's a mistake and not intentional. (As I'm counting on this device)

On page 11 (PARAMETER MEASUREMENT INFORMATION Vcc= 3.3V..) under "Voltage Waveform Propagation Delay Times", the output is inverted from the input.

However. on page 10 (PARAMETER .... Vcc= 2.5V..) the output isn't inverted./

Also, this is not an inverting device.

Am I correct to assume this is a mistake?

Please assist.

Thank you.

Gady

  • Hi Gady,

These are not waveforms for the device, but are generic definitions of terminology. You will find the same generic definitions in many logic datasheets throughout our portfolio, both inverting and not.

The functionality is as described in the function table:

High at the D input results in High at the Q output -- ie - the DFF output is not inverted.

  • Hi Emrys.

    Thank you for your answer.

I didn't think it was an inverting device, that's exactly why I asked the question.

I did find many of the same defining diagrams in many of TIs data sheets, but until now, they were correct to the components definitions,

(i.e. if you look into a related device, the SN74AVC16374, you will find that all the related diagrams (On pages 9, 10, 11 and 12,) are non inverting.)

Again, thank you for your help.
