Hi Team,

I just want to confirm if we can use SN74LVCH162244AGR instead of SN74ALVTH162244GR? They are pin compatible but their Isolation levels are different, SN74ALVTH162244GR is a Level 2, SN74LVCH162244AGR is a Level 1 as per this application note: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/scea026/scea026.pdf

The system is a big WDM shelf that has line cards, backplane and common control card; the SN74ALVTH162244GR had been used on common control card for some control signals hot pull/plug.

Does the control card need to be hot-pulled/-plugged? If not, then the behaviour of the SN74xxx162244 during power-up/-down does not matter.

The fastest way to confirm for a pin to pin device would be to get samples and test a system -- does it work with the new device or not?

These devices are not identical, so it may not work. I can only guarantee the specifications and features in the datasheet.
