In one of our applications, we are using the SN74LV126 Transceiver in a 5V application to take advantage of the ESD protection. I am required to list second sources in most of our applications. I was thinking of listing the SN74LVC126 but the spec sheet says it operates only on voltages up to 3.6V even though the VCC max is listed at 6.5V.
Can I use the LVC part with a 5V supply?.. To compound the confusion, the single gate 74LVC1G126 is rated to work at 5V Vcc operation.
