SN74LVC1T45-Q1: I am having trouble with a device attached to the A port

Part Number: SN74LVC1T45-Q1

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I am using a voltage translator SN74LXC1T45QDCKRQ1, and I am having trouble with a device attached to the A port of the SN74LXC1T45QDCKRQ1. The sensor attached to this port is failing and I do not know why. I was wondering if someone could take a look at the schematic to see if there are any issues or if I am creating a race condition.
We are seeing a number of sensor device failures, of which the digital communication outputs are tied to the A input of the shifter: Sensor output (failing) -> 40Ohm resistor -> A input -> B output -> micro input. The B output is wired to a micro-high impedance input. I am wondering if there is a potential race condition where direction could be reversed for a brief period of time during power up, or if you see any potential issues with this circuit in general.
Below is the schematic:

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

CSC
